--The players say they try not to dwell on the history they have with the Colts. They are all well aware, however, that they have only beaten the Colts once and that they have never won in six tries in Indianapolis.
"I honestly don't think about it too much unless you guys bring it up and then I can address it," TE Owen Daniels said. "There's more stuff to think about than we've never beaten them away from home and we've only beaten them once. There's other mistakes that have come from previous weeks that we need to correct and be focused on and that kind of thing."
WR Andre Johnson said their past record against Indianapolis will not contribute to how they play this week. He said it's not a psychological issue with the team.
"That really doesn't matter," he said. "You can only control what is ahead of you. I don't think that has an effect on us when we play against them."
--The Texans are starting to look at more and more ways to get their young players involved. Dominique Barber is playing ahead of Will Demps now at safety. Demps was inactive last week and will likely be inactive again.
Antwaun Molden now is close to getting into the mix at cornerback. The rookie out of Eastern Kentucky is practicing more at corner and expected to get involved on defense in the next week or so.
He is the last rookie to see much involvement on either the defensive or offensive side of the ball. But he has played a big role on special teams this season.
"He's very young," coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's a small-school kid trying to make his way through pro football. He's made progress but I haven't felt like he's been ready yet to go out there and play on that island and play out there yet. We can also protect him a little with what we do. But it is time for guys like him, (LB Xavier) Adibi, (S Dominique) Barber, young guys that you're really counting for your future to start getting more and more reps."
BY THE NUMBERS: 1 -- Year since the Texans won a game on the road. Their last road victory was against the Raiders on Nov. 4, 2007.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "You just have to keep going out there and keep battling. He had a couple of tough breaks on a couple of tipped balls and as a quarterback, when things start going that way it seems like they snowball. The only way to stop them is to keep playing and keep going out there and keep throwing it and keep trying to make the plays. As I said last week, he's got to make plays for us to win and I don't want to get conservative by any means. I want him to go play his position and play it well. If he does that, he'll give us a chance." -- Coach Gary Kubiak, on QB Sage Rosenfels bouncing back after a four-interception outing last week.
