--TE Mark Bruener lingered on the field with his family and played football with his kids a little longer than he typically does. They posed for pictures near the end zone after what was Bruener's final game as a Texan.
Bruener, who only played in two games this season, was activated for the season finale and was named the team's honorary captain. He has spent the last five years of his 14-year NFL career with the Texans.
"I have been enjoying every day as much as I can," said Bruener, whose sons attended practice with him Friday. "It's interesting because when you start your career, you have to learn to be a pro. Then you learn to be a pro and then you're in the mode of wanting to make as much as you can and be on a winning team. Then towards the end of your career you realize how important winning is and you realize the ingredients it takes - from showing up early to studying film. You learn to take nothing for granted."
--Coach Gary Kubiak said he was disappointed after the game to hear there was a national report out that he would be revamping his coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball. Texans owner Bob McNair said he would look at the staff starting on Monday, and Kubiak said that's when his evaluation would begin as well.
"We'll sit down with everybody and evaluate them just like we do our players," McNair said. "We'll evaluate everyone and do what we think will strengthen our team.
"It's hard to say at this point (if changes will be made). With players, you have to look at film. And it's the same with the organization. You have to look at the body of work and not just one game. Usually, the one game is what's on your mind. We'll sit down and start the evaluation, and whatever we decide to do, we'll probably do it pretty soon."
