PLAYER NOTES

--LB Morlon Greenwood (ankle) will be day-to-day this week. X-rays came back negative, and the Texans will see how long it takes in his recovery.

--LB Xavier Adibi saw his first playing time on defense this past week and could move into the starting lineup if the sprained ankle keeps Greenwood out of the mix this week.

--WR Kevin Walter had another touchdown last week, giving him 36 points for the season and tying him with running back Steve Slaton for the team-lead in points by position players.

--PR Jacoby Jones will undergo more drills this week to try to keep him from making poor decisions on returns. He fielded a punt on the 5-yard-line this week, and the Texans work with him constantly on making better choices.

--K Kris Brown remains a perfect 12-for-12 on field goal attempts and a perfect 23 on extra points. He has a total of 59 points this season.

REPORT CARD VS. RAVENS

PASSING OFFENSE: F -- The Texans couldn't prevent turnovers again. The team steered away from the running game, putting a lot of pressure on the offensive line and QB Sage Rosenfels. He was sacked only twice, but he was hit a number of times and he threw four interceptions. He passed for just one touchdown - a 60-yard throw to Kevin Walter.

RUSHING OFFENSE: F -- The Texans seemed to concede the running game before kickoff. They decided to let starter Steve Slaton run just four times in an attempt to "rest" him. Ahman Green had just four attempts and No. 3 RB Ryan Moats finished with a team-high seven carries for 34 yards. There were no rushing touchdowns. And the Texans steered away from the running game in obvious running situations.

PASS DEFENSE: F -- The Texans gave up big plays again in the passing game. Three Ravens finished with receptions of at least 20 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown throw by Joe Flacco. The Texans had a season-high three sacks in the first half, but were unable to provide any pressure on Flacco in the second half. They allowed the rookie to throw for two touchdowns and backup Troy Smith to throw for another.

RUSH DEFENSE: F -- For the second week in a row, the Texans allowed more than 150 rushing yards. Willis McGahee came back from an ankle injury to rush for 112 yards and two touchdowns. The Texans put up little resistance, especially in the second half. They are struggling especially in the middle of the defensive line to plug holes.

SPECIAL TEAMS: D -- K Kris Brown was the highlight with a 48-yard field goal and a 23-yard field goal - both in the first half. The return game wasn't very sharp with PR Jacoby Jones making poor decisions on when to field punts and when to let them go.

COACHING: F -- The Texans made some questionable play calls, especially by having a turnover-prone quarterback throw the ball on a first-and-goal at the 1-yard line. They also didn't run the ball early, putting too much pressure on the offensive line and quarterback. Defensively, the scheme crumbled in the second half. The players were confused and lined up incorrectly, making inexcusable mistakes.
