PLAYER NOTES

--S Nick Ferguson is still battling issues with his knee. It swelled up on him last week, and he left the game early against the Raiders. The coaches still expect him to play Sunday.

--LB Xavier Adibi (groin) didn't play against the Raiders because of his injury, but coaches are hopeful he can play this week against the Bears.

--DT Amobi Okoye recorded his first sack of the season and forced a fumble on the same play.

--WR David Anderson had a career-long catch of 65 yards against the Raiders.

--LB DeMeco Ryans forced another fumble Sunday.

REPORT CARD VS. RAIDERS

PASSING OFFENSE: C -- QB Matt Schaub was unable to get Andre Johnson involved in the game, as the Pro Bowl receiver had just two catches for 19 yards. The Texans were also unable to find anything through the passing game in the red zone. Two passes into the end zone to Kevin Walter were incomplete. Schaub threw one interception. The protection wasn't overly solid either.

RUSHING OFFENSE: F -- The Texans didn't run the ball in the red zone, and they didn't run well enough in the game overall. RB Steve Slaton had just 66 yards against a run defense that was allowing more than 146 per game prior to playing Houston. The blocking wasn't as solid as usual by the offensive line.

PASS DEFENSE: D -- The Texans let JaMarcus Russell put together the best game of his career. He passed for two touchdowns, completing 18 of 25 passes for 236 yards. The secondary played flat and struggled to make any big plays. The Texans' pass rush wasn't very effective.

RUSH DEFENSE: F -- The Texans were bullied by the offensive line of the Raiders. Houston struggled to contain either of Oakland's running backs, as Justin Fargas ran for 93 yards, and Darren McFadden had 46 yards. The Texans struggled from front to back to contain the run and were ineffective throughout the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS: D -- K Kris Brown was the lone highlight on special teams, kicking three field goals, including one of 53 yards. The Texans gave up an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown. Jacoby Jones also fumbled on a punt return.

COACHING: F -- The coaches did not have the players ready to play. The players were flat, and the Texans were outcoached. Houston made poor coaching decisions in the red zone. Overall, the coaches did not have the team in the right mind-set after a franchise-high four-game winning streak.
