Knoxville-BOund?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, pictured above right, reportedly will take a big paycut for the opportunity to work for his son.
ESPN, citing multiple unidentified sources, has reported that Kiffin will follow his son, Lane, pictured above left, to the University of Tennessee. Lane, the former Oakland Raiders coach, will become the Volunteers' next head coach today.
Monte Kiffin is believed to make more money in his current job than all of the Tennessee assistant coaches combined.
After Tampa Bay's 23-20 victory over New Orleans on Sunday, Monte Kiffin addressed the subject.
"It's all just speculation," he said. "That's all it is. Just like it came up with the Raiders. It came up two years ago. It came up last year. I'm still here."
Milestone
San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson scored his 136th career touchdown in the Chargers' 22-16 loss to Atlanta on Sunday, tying him with Marshall Faulk for fifth place all-time.

\n Buffalo came away with no points on four trips inside the red zone and also got nothing on two extended drives of 15 plays or longer in its 10-3 loss to the 49ers. The Bills lost despite outgaining the 49ers 350-195.
\n Cincinnati tied ignominious club records with 11 punts and only six first downs in a 34-3 loss to Baltimore.
\n New Orleans is 0-17 when trailing after three quarters under coach Sean Payton after its 23-20 loss to Tampa Bay.
\n Oakland had only one catch by a wide receiver in a 20-13 loss to Kansas City, and that officially was for 0 yards by Ronald Curry on a hook-and-lateral play.
He said it
"When you get your head kicked in like that, there's not much to say. This team won't have to go through another season like this. Nor will the fans."
