Slaton led all rookies with 508 yards rushing - second in the NFL - in December. He averaged 4.7 yards a carry and scored three touchdowns, helping the Texans go 3-1 at crunch time to finish 8-8 for the second consecutive season.

Slaton led the league with 687 yards from scrimmage. He had three 100-yard games. He led the AFC with 24 first downs rushing in December.

Slaton finished with a team-record 1,282 yards rushing, leading all NFL rookies. He's the second player in franchise history to win a rookie-of-the-month award. Domanick (Davis) Williams earned the honor in 2003.

The rookie winner for defense was Arizona cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
